Meet Lotta

With a passion for helping people find the joy in healthy eating, exercise, and self-care, I support individuals in building sustainable lifestyle habits that promote long-term wellness and help prevent or reverse chronic disease.

  • Nutrition played an influential role in my own recovery from multiple health conditions, including high cholesterol, prediabetes, migraines, seizures and depression. I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate medical diagnoses and the overwhelming amount of conflicting nutrition advice online. Health anxiety is real!

My experience led me to change careers to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist specialized in metabolic health and well-being. I received a Master of Science degree in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity at the University of Southern California, and completed over 1000 hours of internships in clinical nutrition, sports nutrition, corporate wellness, culinary medicine, and nutrition for longevity. I also received additional training through the Institute for Functional Medicine.

I’ve worked with hundreds of clients as a nutrition counselor, educator, and health coach. I’ve also provided personalized counseling and cooking classes to professional athletes and individuals looking to optimize their health and body composition.

I enjoy helping adults develop practical skills around meal planning, cooking, and food shopping while encouraging mindfulness practices and self-compassion. In my practice, I take a holistic approach that incorporates evidence-based functional nutrition principles and client preferences to provide realistic, sustainable solutions that honor mind, body, and spirit.

Prior to becoming a Registered Dietitian, I founded a wellness-focused chocolate company, ran a pop-up cafΓ© in London, and self-published a cookbook for charity. In these roles, I developed healthy recipes, hosted cooking classes and events, and wrote newsletters, articles, and blog posts about food and recipes.

I incorporate my culinary background into my work by sharing delicious, health-promoting recipes and meal ideas with my clients to show that healthy eating is joyful!

  • I work together with each client to develop a personalized nutrition plan that takes your unique lifestyle into account. While I encourage an eating pattern prioritizing whole foods, this does not mean cooking every meal from scratch (unless you want it to!). I can help you reach your goals whether you are an experienced cook or have never used anything except a microwave. I also work with frequent travelers who want support with maintaining their health habits while traveling.

I translate evidence-based nutrition science into realistic strategies that you can apply to your lifestyle in an enjoyable way.

I am your nutrition coach and accountability partner. My intention is to help clients develop self-efficacy and the confidence to be able to continue the habits we develop for a lifetime.

My philosophy is rooted in the β€œwhole:”

    • Whole foods

    • Whole person

    • Whole lifestyle

    • Whole environment

I believe that food is nourishment, connection, comfort, and the foundation for wellness that also includes exercise, sleep, stress management, social connection, and self-expression.

    • Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

    • M.S. in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity from the University of Southern California (USC)

    • Certificate in Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM)

    • Certificate in Sustainability from UCLA Extension, focused on Sustainable Food Systems

    • B.A. in Business Economics from University of California, Los Angeles

  • With over 8 years of professional experience in food, wellness and nutrition, I have a wealth of knowledge about recipes, ingredients, meal ideas, and products to support well-being. My love for nourishing food is influenced by my childhood summers in Finland and volunteer work at the Santa Monica Farmers’ Market. These experiences instilled me with a love for fresh, seasonal cooking using whole foods to support health. I incorporate inspiration from my travels and life in multiple countries to tailor recommendations for clients with diverse cultural backgrounds.

As an entrepreneur in London and Brooklyn, I stopped taking care of myself in the high stress and intense environment, which led to chronic health issues including depression, migraines, seizures, disordered eating, and metabolic conditions, including high cholesterol and prediabetes. Recognizing how I had drifted from my lifelong interest in wellness, I experienced a turning point that led me to make significant changes to my diet and lifestyle. The resulting remarkable transformation in my mental and physical well-being inspired me to change careers to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist. Today, I am grateful to use my education, experience, and skills to help other busy professionals learn how to take care of their health and thrive in work and in life.
